Abiola and Lester

Cairnwood, Cairnwood, PA.  I could some it all up in very few words.  He Love's Her.
Surrounded by family and friends, these two, really didn't notice them at all.  It was a special moment.  Later, at the end of night, the Groom says to me "...thanks for making my wife's day.."

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Cairnwood, The Bride marched down the aisle to Minnie Ripperton's - "Loving You".  Even the birds stopped singing.

At the reception - the Bride and Groom danced to "Always and Forever" by Heatwave, which is pictured above, Later the bridal party danced to "Tender Love" by the Force MDs, and the party was on from there.

I must say, the best part of the evening for me, was the Bouquet and Garter.  The song was "Roll It" by Allison Hinds - and the groom did his thing.  Nope, can't tell you.  Won't tell you.  But it was good!!!

The staff at the Cairnwood was excellent, the food was great, and I had as much fun performing as the guests did dancing.  Oh, they put they're thing down.  I think it was that Reggae and Soca mix, or maybe it was the Grown and Sexy mix... Slammin'

God Bless and remember,  Faith+Family+Fun+Finance = Your Family Legacy.

The Mendenhall Inn, Grand Ballroom, Mendenhall, PA. Wow! The evening started with some smooth jazz and Gospel interludes. As dinner began, we transitioned to a soft blend of Gospel, Motown and a few R&B Classics.

The decor of the Mendenhall Inn is beautiful. The staff is very attentive. I was treated as if I was a guest and the food was very good. View the rooms at: www.mendenhallinn.com/Weddings/index.htm.

Wedding Planner, Patty Drew, kept everyone and everything on time. She took care of every detail which allowed the evening to flow flawlessly. I was truly impressed. Check out her website at: http://www.d2devents.com/.

After introducing the bridal party, the Bride and Groom danced to "Every Time I Close My Eyes" by Babyface, however, no one closed their eyes as they watched. It was as if everyone was dancing with them. Guests were singing and swaying back and forth; it was truly a special moment.

A few gave words of encouragement, however, none as special as the Maid of Honor, Ayanna Redden's toast. I had to hold back the tears myself.

After dinner and a few more formalities, we danced to a little Salsa, Meringue, R&B and some Line Dances.

No one wanted the evening to end. Including me.

Mr. and Mrs. Burwell Cake Cutting

Click Here To Watch The Video

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating with family and friends the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Burwell at the North American Motor Lodge in Philadelphia. Pa.

What a wonderful day. We started with a mixture of Jazz, interlaced with some gospel.

Our Bridal Party was introduced and our Bride and Groom danced to one of my favorite songs by The Whispers called "I'm Going To Make You My Wife".

After dinner and a few formal dances, we danced to more of The Whispers - "Rock Steady" and The Temptataions - "Treat Her Like A Lady".

My favorite part of the evening, was when I noticed an older lady dancing with her cane. She was jamming!

We had a great time, and the food was good as well.

Scotland Run Golf Club, Williamstown, NJ.

Elegance! What more can I say. Great family. Everyone was so nice and truly enjoyed being together.

We started dinner with light jazz, as guest entered the room. A gradual transition to some familiar 50s selections encouraged the guests to dance before dinner was over, which began a most intimate and elegant evening. A little Motown, a little Disco, and a little of todays current hits kept the dance floor active all night. Later, I was told that the staff was jamming in the kitchen.

Afterwards, Mrs. Walter said, "Kevin was very personable and accommodating--we couldn't have asked for better service. DJ Kevin's value is way above and beyond what we paid for-truly spectacular! If you have meticulous guests, DJ Kevin Kirby is the way to go."

I'll admit, I had a great time myself. The staff was great. the guests were very nice, but most of all, the Bride and Groom were great people, who allowed the evening to just happen. Therein, lies the magic.

God Bless.

The Springfield Country Club, is very nice. it has a very soothing and intimate decor. It's like walking into a warm room when coming out of the cold. The food was excellent.

What a wonderful evening! I wanted to first capture the theme of the event so we started with holiday music. For dinner, we shared some memorable tunes from the 50s and 60s.

There was a raffle throughout the night, with some great prizes, A DVD Player, Refrigerator, an LCD TV and many more. During dinner, we celebrated employees with 5, 10, 20 and 30 years of service, then gave a standing ovation for the Employee Of The Year.

We started the dancing with R. Kelly's Step In The Name Of Love, then transitioned to some West Africian music called Lingala. We slowed it down with a little Sinatra, Al Green, and Van Morrison. We had lots of requests for more Lingala, as well as some Motown, and of course, some Hip Hop, So we started with Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees, and ended with Ms. Officer by Lil Wayne, and a whole lot of dancing in between.

It was after 11pm and guests were still dancing and asking for requests. I just wish I had more time to play them.

The song in the video is called Tsoang Tsoang by Dr. Victor

Thank You Melmark  for such a great event. Happy Holidays and God Bless.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry

Wedding at JC Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham, Pa.

Wedding at JC Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham, PA

First, a big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Henry. It was a pleasure to serve you. I truly had lots of fun.

Another, thank you to Mr. and Mrs Melly, whose wedding reception I performed in December 2006 at Celebrations in Bensalem, Pa., where the Henry's and I first met.

The evening started with soft classical music, which complimented the elegant decor of the country club. As we approached dinner, we transitioned to some Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Sammie Davis Jr., and Dean Martin, I spiced it up with a little Nina Simone, Nat King Cole and Bobby Darin. The guests were talkative, so I switched to jazz to allow easier conversation.

Our Bridal Party entered to Kool and the Gang's - "Celebration", then our Bride and Groom danced to "At Last" by Etta James.

Dancing began before dinner was over. (I'm not surprised) Who can resist the sentimental music of the 50s. "In The Still Of the Night", "Sixteen Candles", and "Lavender Blue", just to name a few. Well, the dancing didn't stop. As we approached the end of the evening, the Bride and Groom danced their last song to "I've had the time of my life" by Bill and Jennifer Warnes from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. After just a few more selections and requests, I closed the evening with Eric Clapton's - "Wonderful Tonight".

The Bride and Groom made special requests that the guests loved, and I can not take credit for playing, they were: Monty Python's - "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life", "The City Is At War" by Cobra Starship and "Minnie The Moocher" by Cab Calloway.

Service at the Country Club was very good and the staff was a joy to work with. A member of the catering staff assisted me with my equipment by carrying it up and down the stairs. The management was attentive in every way. Check out their website at www.jcmelrosecc.com.
