50s Sock Hop

Click Here To See The Video

A fantastic event!  The Bunny Hop; The Stroll; A Dance contest; a Limbo contest; a Best Dressed contest; a special performance danced to "We'll Always Be Together" from the Grease Soundtrack; hot dogs were 3 for a dollar; photos were taken with props of Elvis; music from the 50s, and so much more.  WOW!

Kids came early, dressed in 50s fashion, and danced past my bed-time.  What more can I say.  I'm not sure who had more fun, the staff, the parents, the kids, or me.

The staff at the Pike Creek Christian School,, was very kind and the evening went according to plan.  I played a few hits from the 70s as well, along with other requested songs, like the Chicken Dance, The Cha Cha Slide, and some Motown.
Don't think for one minute that this was an all kid affair, not at all, the parents did their thing as well.

I'm excited about next year already!

Horizion House Staff

There are a few events that I look forward to each year; The Horizon House Holiday Event is one of them!

Why? Well quite simply, it's the people! No formalities or speeches; just a great staff, excited guests, good food, a lot of gifts, great music, and dancing... lots of dancing.

Held at the Elks Lodge in Wilmington, De., where the service and accomodations are always gracious and nice; the day began, with some light holiday music. However, we quickly jumped right into the party! The event started at 12 noon, and the dance floor was packed at 12:15.

We played some old school R&B, like Candy Rain by Soul For Real, Love Crazy by Atlantic Star; some Old School Rap, and a little Motown for our boppers. I played a few suprises like, Let's Do It Again, by the Staple Singers, and Mr. Big Stuff, by Jean Knight. I couldn't leave without playing some current day Hip Hop hits of course, Beyonce's Single Ladies and Lil' Wayne's Ms. Officer were very popular.

I had a great time, I'm so thankful that they enjoyed it too!
